Derek Dodge: Co-Founder, COO, Executive Producer

Derek Dodge has over fifteen years experience creating and running content strategies for world-class news and entertainment brands like CNN, Discovery, and MTV.

Derek got his start in television as a producer at CNN during the early days of social media. His early interest and expertise with emerging platforms made him a leader within CNN during the early days of the second wave of tech, and his initiatives helped shape the network’s present-day multi-platform reporting strategy.

After CNN, Derek was hired by veteran journalist Katie Couric to create a cutting-edge digital brand for her ABC-Disney daytime talk show, executive produced by former TODAY EP and now-CNN President Jeff Zucker.

While the head of digital programming for the Discovery Channel, Derek was responsible for the content and editorial strategy for the Discovery brand across all digital and social media platforms, which consisted of a global audience of over 100M.

And as the head of programming for MTV’s Emmy award-winning college channel, MTVU, he oversaw all production of the network’s original content from development through distribution. His unique career has provided him in-depth experience with all forms of new and traditional media, ranging from broadcast television to social media.

Derek is also an accomplished filmmaker, having produced numerous independent films. Most recently he directed Hurley, an independent documentary film produced by actor Patrick Dempsey.
