Searching for Mr. Deepfakes
A first of a kind vertical TikTok docuseries, distributed through entrepreneur, activist, and celebrity Paris Hilton and Mostly Human in partnership with BFD Productions.
Searching for Mr. Deepfakes follows the real-time global investigation to unmask the anonymous operator behind one of the internet’s most notorious deepfake pornography platforms while exploring the broader implications of online anonymity, digital abuse, and AI-driven exploitation.
Working alongside white-hat hackers, investigators, survivors, and cultural figures, journalist Laurie Segall and her team, including journalist Nicole Boucher in partnership with filmmakers Roxy Hunt and Tony Castle of BFD Productions, expose the broader consequences of deepfakes, online anonymity, and digital exploitation. The investigation – one of the early major spotlights on this issue – helped lead to a real-world outcome: the shutdown of the platform, marking a rare moment of accountability in an otherwise unregulated space.
